  • The spring time change is coming up in BCS. On Sunday April 3, the time will jump one hour at 2am. If you’re going to get a flight that day, don’t forget to put your alarm forward.
  • Trying to book a flight SJD to YVR in May with someone who can accompany a 20 year old El Sargento student. Her parents don’t want her to travel alone. The only flights I found with friends flying home are 1500us one way! Anyone flying West Jet May 28? That flight is 562us. Or others?
  • Open Studio Experience - This Friday April 1st Meet Carol, view her art and discover her creative painting process. Experience Michael’s Flow dance theory, starting with an introduction class at 17:00, followed by a unique dance party. Contact us to pin you the address. Carol: +1 425 359 98 59. Sara: + 52 612 21 88 890
All Things Reptile - (by Chance Stevens) - Zebra-Tailed Lizards (Callisaurus draconoides) are fast, harmless, camouflage reptiles with an accurate name, since the underside of their tails displays a striking black and white-striped design. The males have beautiful belly patterns with blue, orange, black, white and even red colorations.
They are most commonly found on sandy arroyo bottoms and on beaches at the edge where the plants stop, but they will live in many habitats. Around La Ventana, I have witnessed about 10 Zebra-Tailed Lizards in one bush. They are so incredibly fast that they seem to fly to the nearest safe place and, if there is no cover nearby, they will quickly burrow themselves into the sand and disappear. The only reason I was able to catch the one in the photo was because, when it burrowed itself into the sand, its tail was sticking out.
As for their diet, they eat a lot of butterfly and moth larvae as well as ants, termites and beetles.
If you want to talk or walk reptiles, email And check out the new All Things Reptile page on the website, an archive of all of the reptile stories posted in the newsletter.
MasViento Wind Forecast - (Today: Sunny. North wind 18-22 mph) No satellite-derived winds were available this morning, but all of the latest model forecasts show ample north background flow today. Models also show the north flow should be far more consistent than yesterday, and as full sunshine heats up the plains, we will see a solid thermal boost. The high pressure ridge just to our north is forecast to weaken on Thursday, but several of the forecast models show some remaining north flow, and it may be just enough to give us one more kiteable day. Wes - daily forecasts: MasViento.
Farmers Market - The market is on! Every Thursday, located on the main road, Corredor Isla Cerralvo, just a few blocks north of Club Cerralvo.
