The Ventana View
FYI - Questions - Help
  • Can you spot a stingray in the sand? Here is a very short video to introduce what a Stingray looks like buried in the sand. Stingrays are harmless creatures, unless you step on one when they are buried in the sand. Some people shuffle their feet in the sand to scare them away. That’s what I do when I enter the water. A Stingray has a barb on the tail that they use to defend themselves; that’s the sting in Stingray. It’s very painful. Stingrays will leave you alone otherwise. I enjoy watching their unique and graceful way of swimming. - William

Coronavirus Relief
With the two recent COVID-19-related deaths of community elders and the increasing number of affected families, you may be looking for ways to provide support.

Justina Dominguez Rieke - Justina, from FundaciĂłn AZUL Cerralvo, is buying healthy food, water, electrolytes, cleaning products and medicine to be dispersed among those affected.
Guadalupe Cosio Barrera (Lupita) - Lupita, who leads the ambulance crew, is buying and distributing medicine and oxygen.

A little clean up campaign was held last Sunday. North by the Oscaritos area, south on the road starting from Rico’s house and in the dumpster. Farmers Market
Farmers Market is every Thursday. Look for the market a few blocks North of Club Cerralvo along the main road, before El Teso. More on Facebook. Announcements:
  • Larry & Paty - Fresh Smoked Yellow-Tail, Paty’s new homemade sugar free Fig Jam, and Fig Chipotle Sauce, her original Pepper Jelly, Pineapple Habanero Pepper Jelly, Salsa Verde, and AAA first quality Vanilla beans from Veracruz, great to take home for gifts! Also Baja Art cards and Handmade Mexican blouses. Stop by and try our free samples.
  • Featured Vendor: Minka Swimwear - If you haven’t visited the market lately you should stop by and check out some of this season’s new vendors. Like Majo, who started her own business called Minka Swimwear. Majo is a marine biologist who was on the search for swimwear that would reflect her love of the ocean. Sadly, what little there was available in Mexico was too costly so she decided to launch her own line of affordable bikinis that are made from recycled bottles! She purchases the recycled PET fabric and has it custom dyed and printed with her own graphic creations that reflect the ocean’s beauty. Each garment is reversible so you can have different looks by switching things up. Styles also reflect her desire that they be suitable for either sports activities or just looking stylish on the beach. Her motto is “Ocean-awareness one eco-bikini at a time.” You can find her on the main aisle this Thursday!
